Rain and Storms today for South East Kansas





It's been a rainy day so far today. We have has several storms pass through with more on the way. I have to keep unplugging the computers and plugging them back in after the storm passes. It looks like we will be doing this the rest of the evening. Oh what fun....

The STORM PREDICTION CENTER issued a Tornado watch #709 in effect until 6 PM cdt this evening.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES NORTHEAST OF CHANUTE KANSAS TO 10 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF FORT SMITH ARKANSAS.

DISCUSSION...STRONG SYSTEM CONTINUES TO DEEPEN INTO PLAINS WITH RAPID INCREASE IN MOISTURE/INSTABILITY NWD THROUGH WATCH AREA. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS NRN OK EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING NEWD WITH INCREASING POTENTIAL FOR TORNADIC SUPERCELLS DURING THE AFTERNOON.

First off....hope ya saw your tarnado...and secondly...it sucks to live in Southeastern Kansas right now... ;-)

Nope, no tornado, just allot of wind and rain. :( It's nice and sunny outside today so today is a good day for here.
