Guide to Useless Services ( Windows XP SP2 )

Windows runs a lot of stuff in the background that takes up memory and processor cycles. To find out what you don't need running there is help to be found. Guide to Useless Services is an article on TechTree written back in December that identifies and describes 29 services that are probably running on your computer and probably don't need to be. Go take a look. Just be careful when messing around here. If you don't know what your doing I would skip this article. If your computer is running slow it's probably better to go into MSCONFIG and stop some of your startup apps and upgrade your RAM. One more thing, if your computer is more than five years old maybe it's time to get a new one.
